Bad Habits

I must not judge another

For a habit they can’t break.

Nor one who takes a breather

Just for their craving’s sake.

I glance in any mirror

And what is there to see.

A long habitual snacker

Shines its evidence on me.

So if I criticize

Or make comments unfairly

I’m sure to gain a few more pounds

And fatter yet I’ll be.

If breaking a bad habit

Some think is just a breeze.

Why do I keep on eating

Is it habit or disease?

If you feel the need to criticize

And think you have no flaws.

Perhaps your bad habit is- my dear-

Judgmental flapping of your jaws.
